Amy Williams MBE

Amy Williams

Amy Williams MBE, famously remembered for wining Olympic gold in the Skelton at the Vancouver Winter Olympic in 2010. Amy originally was a 400m runner and began competing in Skeleton in 2002 after trying out the sport at a push track at the University of Bath. Amy wanted to represent GB and whilst she was unable to qualify in the athletics team she decided to try another sport and was determined to achieve her goals. What a decision that turned out to be as she became the first British individual medalist at a Winter Olympics for 30 years and the only British medalist of those specific Olympics.
